2014优秀华裔大学生文化参访团

2014 Cultural Tour for Outstanding Overseas Chinese College Students


受中国华文教育基金会和北京市海外交流协会委托,全美中文学校今年将组织“2014优秀华裔大学生文化参访团”活动,有关事宜说明如下:

一、活动目的:

发挥北京教育文化资源优势,组织海外优秀华裔大学生青少年来京,以文化交流为平台,以社会调研实践为主题。加深这一群体对中国优秀传统文化和中华民族的认同和理解,对中国现行制度、政策、发展路线选择及发展历程的认知和理解。亲身感受中国改革开放发展现状和社会民生建设情况。了解中国的创业环境、商业机遇和发展前景,愿意将自己今后的个人发展与中国的发展紧密联系。

二、活动时间:

7月30日-8月10日,共11晚12天。

三、活动人数:

全美9名营员,1名领队。

四、组团要求:

营员为年龄在18-24岁之间的华裔大学生,需身体健康,有较强汉语基础和较强生活自理能力,就读当地知名大学,学习成绩优秀,积极参与当地社会活动者优先。 同时满足下列条件之一。

  1. 美国“总统学者奖”获得者 (包括艺术)
  2. 西屋科学奖获得者
  3. 罗德奖学金获得者(Rhodes Scholarships)
  4. 其它美国全国性奖励获得者(如:Fulbright Scholar,Marshall Scholar)
  5. 大学排名前二十学校的本科生”学术”奖学金(merit based)

领队需年龄在25至60岁之间,汉语流利,身体健康,责任心强,有一定组织管理能力。

五、活动费用:

营员和领队抵达北京前(离京后)旅费自理,在京活动期间的食宿、交通、参观等费用由北京海外交流协会承担。请务必为营员在当地上好医疗等相关保险。

六、 活动内容:
1.名师讲堂,聆听国内著名学者、成功人士、知名企业家有关政治外交、经济商业、文化历史、创业指导等专题演讲;
 2.主题论坛、青年联欢,促进中外优秀大学生相互学习交流;
 3.专题调研,分组深入社区、农村、企业就科技、文化、环保、社会组织等专题展开调研,并分享调研结果,感受中国改革开放发展现状和社会民生建设情况;
 4.参访著名侨资企业、高新科技企业、与海外华人创投企业老总对话,了解国内创业环境和发展机遇;
5.参与公益活动,展现当代青年社会公民责任;
6.文化考察、文化体验,感受中国悠久的历史传统文化、非物质文化遗产和地域特色文化。

Commissioned by Chinese Educational Foundation and Beijing Overseas Exchange Association, the Chinese School Association of United States will be the official organizer of the 2014 Cultural Tour for Outstanding Overseas Chinese College Students.  The details of the tour are as follows:
 
1.Purposes of the Tour:
The tour is to provide select outstanding overseas Chinese college students opportunities to conduct social studies in Beijing where there is a wealth of cultural and educational resources.  This tour will help such students to have a better understanding of Chinese cultural traditions as well as a better appreciation of the culture.  The tour will also provide the students a real-life experience of what is happening in China in government and its policies, as well as its economic development trends.  Therefore, the students on this tour will also have an opportunity to evaluate their future career options and how they can make it connect with such an environment. 

2. Tour Duration
July 30th, 2014 - August 10th, 2014 (11 nights and 12 days)

3. Number of Students
9 students with a captain from U.S.A.

4.Candidate Student Requirements:
• Age: 18-24 years of age;
• college students attending a well-known college or university in the    United States;
• of sound health;
• excellent Chinese language skills;
• independent;
• an excellent GPA;
• active involvement in local communities preferred;

with one of the following awards:
• Presidential Scholar Award:

The Captain is required to be between 25 and 60 years of age, of good health, fluent in Mandarin Chinese, responsible, and with strong management and organizational skills.
 
5.Tour Expenses
The selected students and captain are responsible for their own travel expenses to Beijing and their departure from the camp.  Food and lodging, transportation, and tour fees during the camp are covered by the Beijing Overseas Exchange Association.  Students and captain alike must show they have arranged medical and other insurance coverage for themselves before the trip.
 
6. Tour Activities
1)      Keynote speakers, including well-known scholars and successful entrepreneurs, will be presenting on various topics such as government, politics and diplomatic issues, business, culture and history and career development in China; 
2)      Panel discussions and gatherings will engage students from overseas in learning and exchange with college students in China. 
3)      Projects on special themes and topics will have students in groups on such special themes and visit various communities and industries to study those chosen topics and themes.  They are expected to share their new knowledge and understanding of the current state of the country and its development upon completion of their projects. 
4)  Tours to well-known enterprises supported by overseas Chinese and high-tech enterprises will provide the students with face-to-face conversations with successful overseas investors and entrepreneurs and understand the career and professional development environment and opportunities in China;
5)  Students will also participate in community service in the local area;
6)  Students will be immersed in the rich Chinese cultural heritage and experience its impact on the land and the people.

1) Complete a tour registration form (in Chinese and English);
